Maowa doesn't have a mom. She died when she was too young to remember her. She has a father...somewhere. She eventually finds him, but, it ends up she'd rather have continued to believe he never existed. Otherwise Maowa is pretty much been on her own for a very long, long time. Although she's not the last of her species like Adele is, there are few and far in between as they continue to die off.
